The Vision
Quest uses the latest Web Services technology to deliver data
directly into Excel. The user clicks on the Quest menu option in
Excel and runs the Quest Wizard which allows them to choose the
reports they want to run and which data sources they wish to
include in the report, the reports are run and the information
transmitted to Excel and the spreadsheet is populated. Quest can
run multiple queries against multiple data sources simultaneously
using multi-threading for fast results. Automating manual
processes which involve copying files, copy/paste operations and
spreadsheet manipulation removes a lot of chances of errors
leading to improved data integrity.
Value Delivered
At a large financial services company Quest’s Excel integration
dramatically speeded up Excel reporting and helped shortened the
monthly reporting cycle by half from a typical 5 days to just under
2 days with some tasks which previously took a whole day to do
being reduced to a minute or so. Quest has delivered the following
